Our Story
From Vision to Reality: Fleet Technology Engineered for Africa
Built for How African Fleets Actually Operate
Fleets in Africa run in conditions most global platforms were not built for: long cross-border routes, uneven connectivity and cost leakage across fuel, tyres and spares. Many SME fleet owners also tell us they are overwhelmed by providers selling AI dash cams, facial recognition and analytics they will never use.
TEQ District started with those gaps. We build fleet technology for these roads and operators, simple enough to use from the first week, with trackloc8 at the centre. Fleets add video, fuel or cargo capability as they need it, and a team that picks up the phone stands behind all of it.
Timeline
Our journey, year by year
-
2023 — The Beginning
Telematics Distribution
TEQ District began as a distributor of telematics solutions, working with industry-leading brands to supply hardware across Africa. Working this closely with fleets showed us how they really operate, and where the technology on offer falls short.
Key Achievement: Became a telematics hardware distributor for leading brands across Africa.
- Role: Distributor
- Reach: Across Africa
-
2024 — The Shift
From Distributor to Builder
We kept encountering the same industry gaps: cost leakage across fuel, tyres and spares, hardware that did not suit local conditions, and platforms too complex for the fleets using them. So we started building. We introduced fuel monitoring with real-time data, consumption reports, refill and drain detection, and trip-level fuel cost per vehicle and per driver, and launched a driver identification keypad with our partner Tracking Hardware UK Ltd.
Key Achievement: Launched our own fuel management solution and driver identification keypads.
- Launched: Fuel Management
- Launched: Driver ID Keypads
- Partner: Tracking Hardware
-
2025 — Going Regional
Connectivity Across Borders
We grew our IoT connectivity provision across the region and configured our hardware for cross-border use, so fleets keep reporting wherever the route goes. We also extended tracking to cargo: location, movement, security, condition and journey.
Key Achievement: Grew regional IoT connectivity provision and extended tracking to cargo.
- Connectivity: Cross-Border
- Growth: Regional IoT
- Solution: Cargo Tracking

2026 — trackloc8
Purpose Built Operating System for Africa
We launched our AI safety video telematics hardware, built with a China-based ODM factory, with accessories such as an alcohol breathalyzer and a camera optimised for high-data-volume, cross-border use. We then brought our solutions together under trackloc8, our fleet intelligence platform: one dashboard for cost, trips and fleet performance. Today we serve fleets under telematics service contracts across Kenya, with all five solutions engineered, configured and supported from Nairobi.
Key Achievement: Launched AI safety video telematics hardware and unified our solutions on trackloc8.
- Launched: AI Safety Video
- Platform: trackloc8
- Solutions: 5
- Service Contracts: Kenya

2027 — Looking Ahead
Beyond Kenya
From 2027, we plan to extend our services into new African markets, adapting our solutions to fit industrial requirements in existing and emerging markets.
Current Focus: Adapting to what each new market needs while keeping the product simple and the support direct.
- Direction: New African Markets
- Approach: Adapted to Each Market
