Company History

Our Journey of Innovation.

From a bold idea to a regional leader in IoT, connectivity, and automation

Since our founding in 2018, TEQ District has grown into a trusted partner for digital transformation across Africa. Here’s a look at the key milestones that have shaped our journey.

1

2018 – The Birth of TEQ District

TEQ District was established in 2018 as a timely response to the need for democratizing globally approved, interoperable telematics and IoT solutions across Africa’s industrial landscape. With strong foundations in the transportation industry and software development, our founding team set out to bridge the gap between cutting-edge global innovation and the real-world operational challenges faced by businesses in transport, logistics, and energy.

2

2019 – First Deployments and Early Adoption

Our first year of operations focused on field deployments and building client trust. We partnered with early adopters in logistics and construction, delivering GPS tracking systems and custom fleet visibility tools. This hands-on work validated our model and marked the start of our SaaS revenue stream. We expanded our team and established operations in Nairobi to meet growing demand.

3

2020 – Expansion into IoT & Custom Telematics

The global pandemic underscored the need for remote visibility and operational efficiency. In response, TEQ District introduced its first custom IoT telemetry suite—combining asset tracking, environmental monitoring, and real-time data logging. This innovation enabled organizations to maintain control and visibility over dispersed assets. During this period, we expanded our footprint into the energy, utilities, and warehousing sectors, delivering smart, locally adapted solutions when resilience mattered most.

4

2021 – Platform Growth and API Integration

This year marked our shift to full-stack service delivery. We launched a centralized data platform for real-time asset management and introduced robust API integrations, enabling seamless connection with ERPs and mobile systems. TEQ District became a preferred partner for fleet operators and regional logistics companies.

5

2022 – Launch of Automation and Connectivity Services

To support deeper digital transformation, we rolled out industrial connectivity and automation offerings. These included LoRaWAN networks, SCADA integration, and private 4G/5G deployments for large facilities. We also launched our managed services model, allowing clients to outsource monitoring, updates, and infrastructure maintenance to our expert team.

6

2023 – Regional Optimization & Enterprise Projects

We expanded across East and Southern Africa, tailoring solutions to diverse terrains and industries. Our enterprise deployments included mining, food production, and logistics corridors, each optimized for unique local conditions. We also introduced technical training programs for clients and strengthened our R&D focus.

7

2024 – National Platforms and Intelligent Infrastructure

2024 marked a defining year as TEQ District delivered national-scale digital infrastructure projects while deepening our role in smart mobility and compliance technologies. We were entrusted with high-impact initiatives in Liberia, including myMoto, a nationwide motorcycle registration and tracking program, and the digitization of the Liberian Maritime Authority (LiMA). These programs combined GPS and satellite tracking, custom-built registration portals, owner verification modules, and integrated digital payment solutions.

8

2025 – Today and Beyond

Today, TEQ District supports over 100 organizations across Africa with solutions spanning factory automation, asset tracking, payment systems, and managed connectivity. With a mission to "Digitize Industry for the Future," we continue to combine global innovation with local insight—enabling scalable, future-ready operations for African businesses.
